• Intonation and speech timbre can completely change the correct interpretation of a word or sentence, e.g. “Go!”, “Go?” and “Go.” can clearly be recognized by a human, but not so easily by a computer.
• Narrative dictation has a highly interpretive nature that often requires human judgment because words and sentences can have several valid interpretations such that the speaker leaves the choice of the correct one to the listener. • Written language may need punctuation according to strict rules that are not strongly present in speech, and are difficult to infer without knowing the meaning (commas, ending of sentences, quotations).

The question that to me am generally asked by new medical transcriptionists is how to obtain their first work. The majority of work of transcription requires the experiment because the medical suppliers do not have time to form transcriptionists. Thus, how do you obtain the experiment if you do not have any experience? It is the fight for beginners.

The good news is that there are companies of transcription which will engage you and will train you. The hospitals and the private clinics employ usually a company of medical transcription to make transcribing mainly because they do not have the hour or the personnel to form an inexperienced MT

If you took a medical transcription course you were probably known as to call the hospitals and the private clinics in your sector or to write a letter about obtaining to them a work.
